As I work now we have lights on, although it is "daylight" outside. In our climate here there is much cloud cover and many dark days, whereas in the tropics the constant glare from intense sun is undesirable. I've used skylingts in both regions in my work, but not to provide sufficient light to eliminate artificial lighting. In both situtations that would be counterproductive.

On the issue of large areas of glass, note the article in the current issue of AW about Coop's high-rise housing in Vienna. Aside from the question of whether Vienna needs high-rise housing, I wonder how the all-glass facade works--not in glib theory (as conveyed in the article) but in hard data about performance. We need more feedback about building performance and user response, before we encourage students and others to imitatie some of these experiments.
