What is it that the French saying: "The more things change the more they stay the same."

It is exceedingly difficult to build an 800 foot long building and keep a human scale. The "bold" use of color is nothing new. The ridicule of this building, calling it the "Barney, Barbie, and Big Bird" sections is predictable on a college campus, where 18-22 year olds, freed from the prying eyes of parents, test the waters with cynical pronouncements.

Another thought that arises here is the old Biblical saying, "A prophet is not without honor save in his own land." The Chicago architects go to New Yorkd, the New York architects go to Chicago, the Italian architects go to the USA. The USA architects go to Europe.

And so it goes.
