one very interesting aspect of Bath is the way that modern shopping areas have been integrated. From my last visit, I remember this as being particularly successful. Even large retail names had to have their shopfronts in keeping, but they managed to do this in a way that made the centre very pleasant and lively.

the use of materials in some of the pedestrianised areas was sensitive and it would be interesting to see if some of this could come over in photographs.
