when we link an image to messages on this forum... are we violating any copyright laws...?..
will it be ok if we identify the website from where we are linking and the URL of the image..?... plus the name of the photographer (provided that web-site is listing it)....
To get clear about image copyrights, we first need to be clear about our terminology.
This is "linking to an image" (correctly according to linking instructions provided at the source web site):

Now, back to the questions, using the terms as clarified here.
You can almost always link to an image on a public web site, as long as you follow any special instructions at that web site. You can only post an image if you have explicit permission to do so.
