you can take a photograph of what you like (except perhaps some military installations - then they take the camera away). That photograph is yours.

I know that some architects can get a bit precious about their buildings, but (sorry to break this news to everyone) the idea that they can charge us for just looking at it is a bit optimistic.

it is the photograph that you own.

the implication of this is the primitive idea that taking someone's photograph "steals their soul". If we photograph a building, do we then own the building ? Kevin must be very rich.
