"Australia is an extremely urbanized nation but this is not reflected much in the architectural press"

bulldust - you locked in a cellar in Sydney ?

even a newspaper like the Age carries more regular and interested articles on architecture than major papers in most other countries, and they are certainly not all wistful notions of your corrugated vernacular. In a city like Melbourne you do not exactly have to go far to find amazing countryside - and as for breezy beach-houses, I understand that the cheapest area in the whole Melbourne area is Frankston. Some lovely houses there which are not restricted to the millionaires.

You want to get out more.
