Has anyone read the above book and can share an opinion of it? As a member of the Festival of Britain Society, I have a mixed opinion of the man himself, but am impressed with the book. Chapter 6 on the Festival of Britain is particularly well written, but I wonder whether his reputation was really based on his own ability to promote himself?

There were other leading 'architectural' personalities involved in the 1951 Festival of Britain, but Casson's is the lasting reputation. Is there a need for a new reference book on the Festival of Britain to replace "A Tonic To The Nation" (Thames & Hudson'76)? Comments?
