The modest size of this slight sliver of a building belies its importance. It has attracted much attention, deservedly, not because it's outlandish (which it's not) but because it's very throughly and thoughfully developed.

What sections! Corb may have talked about the plan being the generator of form (alas) but often it's the section that's critical--particularly for the the three-dimensional, spatial reality of the form.

With Kahn and Scarpa as patron saints, how could this be anything but "good" (not merely "interesting")? Scarpa is in the details, of course--and this is a lovingly detailed work.

The husband-wife team of architects is not new to the East Coast architectural scene, but Tod Williams and Billie Tsien deserve wider recognition (and more building commissions) elsewhere.
