"no violence" in Harry Potter ? I suggest that you read the books more slowly, and you will see not just how much of it is based on extreme violence and terror, but just how many aspects and characters in the book are based on people and attitudes in contemporary Britain.

as for Europe as the 'tower of Babel', Europeans seem to manage rather well - perhaps that is why they live so much better than the Brits. See the recent report did you ? The standard of living in Britain is now behind that of Spain, and only ahead of Greece and Turkey.
