since I used to live in the Barbican and knew a number of architects who worked on the arts centre, I am also surprised to see it on the list. It has not worked particularly well as a major arts venue (many millions are being spent now to improve this), but one of the world's ugliest buildings ?

taking a stroll around the City of London can reveal some real horrors, but not the arts centre.

(I agree about the Dome - it is not the Dome as a structure. To call it "ugly" strains the definition.)

anyone ever been to Birmingham in the British Midlands ?????
