Did anyone notice that the picture is cracked in the link above to the world's ugliest building article? The crack takes on the form of a human stick figure with its head above the frame of the picture. The stick figure reminds us that some buildings, like the stick figure, have no real substance, but merelyremind us of the real thing. Since the head of the stick figure is not showing, it reminds us that some architects go around with their heads in the clouds. It also reminds us that much of the buily environment is "designed" by faceless, nameless, unknowns.

The stick figure also seems to be in a state of tension which reminds of of the tension amd conflict that arises when someone puts one of these buildings in a setting that is not in the context of the already built environment. Different cities have different spatial limitations. Because of these limitations, it is sometimes necessary to put buildings in a place where they are in stark and jarring contrast to the already buiold environment. As a general rule the public will find this offensive. Why not build such buildings in more open areas where they can be surrounded by other buildings of varying styles?

As for the ugliest buildings - isn't that just a matter of opinion?
