I should know better than to trust my memory, especially for Scotch poetry.

And yes, ". . . monie a blunder . . .an' foolish notion," is surely what we see illustrated. The article was pointed about the high cost of these blunders and foolish notions, as the layman sees them--whether or not we architects and critics agree.
