a wind-farm at Tangy, Mull of Kintyre, which is I believe currently under construction has a "nominal" 12-MW output. (Contractors for the project are Vestas - Celtic Wind Technology Limited.)

However, this is unusual in even stating a nominal power output. Uniquely, in my experience, for the powergen sector, windfarms do not normally state the output of proposed installations.

it is "politically correct" power generation - sustainable, green, etc. Never mind if the output is negligible and the structures look ridiculous and intrusive - it is far more acceptable to the mass media than the types of green-power stations being tried in Scandinavia.

"Is the british Government really that corrupt..." My reply would use up a lot of Kevin's bandwidth, so I'll keep it simple - yes. Just remember that Stephen Byers considered a number of passenger deaths financially "acceptable" on the railways - it all ended at Potter's Bar.
