While I am an admirer of French design, the article seems limited in discussing furniture only through the Louis XIV-XV periods, whereas that of the Louis XVI and subsequent periods (Neoclassical) may be more attuned to current taste than the Rococco. To create the impression that all French decorative tradition is gilded curlicues does not serve public education very well.
