Wind turbines are a very viable, technically valid way to generate electricity. When compared to the available alternatives for generating electric power (something we are all consuming), wind turbines are broadly superior.

The collective output of a bank of large wind turbines is substantial.

Whether any specific wind turbine installation is appropriate depends on various site-specific considerations that cannot be answered generically.
