The manhattan side of the 59th street bridge now has the base of it occupied by a supermarket and restaurant. The market, with its Gaustivino tile work at its massive vaulted arches, makes food shopping an extraordinay eexperience. The new Conrans building adjacent to it, with its swooping roof, while alone is a fine building, stands awkward next the bridge.
