I'm also a bit surprised at the linkage of faux concrete stained to appear as redwood with 'a spiritual' element. Also the reference to redwood as unavailable is a gross distortion. In the American Northwest, redwood is still an economical method of fencing large subdivision complexes in suburban neighborhoods.

I would be interested in seeing how the stain is stabilized from causing or promoting further deterioration of the concrete mechanical/material properties. Even if sealed, how does the stained concrete endure 30 years hence if the sealer wears off and the concrete is hydrated again?
