While I think there should be something rebuilt there, I think rebuilding anything like the original buildings would show that we have not learned anything. In addition to being a prime target because the towers rose so high above everything else in the city, it was built with no access to fire and rescue personnel. The stories of people coming down the stairs watching the rescue personnel struggling to climb up 40 flights of stairs (not even halfway up the building)with full fire fighting regalia and equipment should make people pause and consider why we should design such tall buildings. There was no place for a helicopter to drop rescue personnel halfway up so they would even have a chance at doing some good. Instead they had to die.
