Hi.
It took me since ver.2,6 AutoCAD to find out that the 3D technology are better off with objects cut 2D assembled into a 3D framework needing no bending or fitting ,and during most of that time ,top technology been huge 3D routers and Rapid prototyping ; I know that you only need one unique object to start copying, but what's the use copying a foam ship ;))
This is not the way you build ships or boats, and at the most you could use the plug for a plug producing a tradisional mold, --- se this is what I mean , ---- there are all chances to develob new methods, said by a boatbuilder ,and then new technology allway's are just supporting old petro chemic.
Anyway for aircrafts a carbon fiber covered intergrated framework are produced ontop foam frames ,this right away produce a strong frame ,even here 2D based technology allready work, ------ what have 3D-routers produced according to products ready from the mill.
There are plenty sense in develobing 2D methods adding the third dimention in the assembly process, There are a much higher win doing this.
