I'm an architect in Sydney whoo's done HEAps of travel myself,and who's working for Daryl Jackson Robin Dyke at the moment. Sydney is MENTAL at the moment with all the Olympic work, and the GST, but come September, we're all expecting the reliable "dump"in the Building industry, and there probably won't be too much work around.

But I think you should come to Oz for a working holiday anyway. Our office always employs backpackers for 3 months, (their visas), and you'de have a great time anyway. Besides, the exchange rate is so good for you guys that you might as well come out for a holiday anyway!!
