Former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani would like to see the entire 16 Acres left in grass with a fitting Memorial at its center. Basically I am in that camp as well, as are a lot of people, including those who believe the land contains the remains of their loved ones. We know the final decision may well come from the Governor, the new Mayor and an from the Port Authority. So far no decision has been made.

This being a forum of students and seasoned Architects listened to by the abovementioned persons, I am curious about what your design concepts are. What if you could influence the decision somehow. Would you opt for a grand skyscraper a'la FLW's 'Chicago', groups of buildings like the 6 schemes we have seen proposed, perhaps a student's proposal, or should we leave it to the Landscape Architects (lawn, gardens with a central theme)??...and why?
