That is an intersting point of view, but like most he is not able to distinguish modernist urban design from modernist architecture. Classicists and many New Urbanists often have a similar blind side. The two are not indivisable, and humane urban planning does not preclude modern architecture. The kind of urban planning decisions (if you could even call them that - more like economic decisions) that lead to tall buildings are not intrinsic to modern architecture. Tall buildings probably will be with us forever but maybe at some point we will see them more for what they are.
