Your observations ring true, but I have never worked with the autocratic designer--it was never in my temperament to do so. I have however worked with very "creative" (or "inventive") colleagues. It was extremely frustrating because there was so little sense of direction--all designers want to keep all options open, continually wanting to go back to square one.

This is why partnerships ought not be comprised of designers alone, but rather ought to mix varied specialties of contributors.
