the argument that work (and by implication the technology associated with work) is what is damaging to the home environment is an illusion.

if a woman says that her work seems to be becoming more important than her children, then perhaps that is the truth. The work takes over because of the emotional poverty of the home life - the technology is merely something to hide in.

it is not like that here - home and especially children are a very important part of daily life.

I saw a woman from North America (either from US or Canada) being given a very severe lecture by a Frenchman for deliberately leaving her child unattended in a dangerous location. It is not a matter for discussion here - it is just not acceptable.
