yes modernists were conserned about abstract functional role in architecture, but where was Mr."machine for living" heading finally in Ronchamp?
spirituality!,Paul Malo prefered to put the " Ronchamp" as the turning point between modernism to postmodernism, but it was a shot that missed its projectile or the right target!
this is exactly were the architectural black hole start!
where the idiosynccratic architectural evolutionary mutation happened!
did they satisfied our spiritual needs for creative social spaces?
this point is highly controversial and many people may not share my conclusions, but that will not change anything from our near architectural future.
postmodernism is subjectivism, spirituality is objectivism ,two different evolutionary path!
what contemporary architects tend to do nowadays,to be more ego centered,to have the monopoly of the ultimate architectural truth ,thru their signature designs and their damned selfish style?
modernism is dead no question, but postmodernism is also in the Intensive Care Unit,it needs another 50 years to follow her sister!
