What is "creative intuition"? You say it's "unconscious," which may be misleading--as if any sort of aimless doodling in a mindless sort of way will utilize creative intuition.
Of course, creative intuition is indeed "unconscious" in the sense it does not result reliably from any conscious plan about how to be creatively intuitive. When the intuition does occur, surely the event IS conscious in a sense, for we are alert and intensely concerned about the problem when this apparent revelation happens.
Although I'm no psychologist, I visualize the mind to be an incredibly complex maze of synapses. Normally we enter this tangle from some point and pursue a particular path to see where it leads. Often it's a dead end. Occasionally we get somewhere useful by a CONSCIOUS pursuit of this particular route, but then some other consideration will start us on another path. All designers know this process. We hope that sooner or later different paths will cross at some common point.
Creative intuition, I think, is sort of a hunch--almost like a glimpse of this tangle of routes as seem from the air--usually a fleeting glimpse at best but sufficient to suggest the direction we want to go, averting many blind alleys. This is a 'hunch" or a mere "feeling" about where the destination lies.
Perhaps less mysteriously, creative intuition is about finding the right question to ask, or determining which of many possible issues is the critical issue of a given problem.
