interesting that when the genetically-modified argument started (i.e. when it was discovered that the stuff was actually being sneaked into the food chain) the British public responded with one single word to express their concern: Thalidomide.

after I left Britain, it was very alarming to realise that in the first few months I was literally de-toxing from the food (no joke). Little surprise that the British are eating more and more organic food.

Brits are not allowed to be blood donors in France, Australia and a range of other countries - and I'll bet that they wouldn't print that in the Times.
