"postmodern architecture is, primarily, one of surface and ornament."

I am not an architect, but an art student exploring architecture in reference to this quote.

I do not believe it is only surface and ornament as there seems intention of creating moods and referencing relevant social/historical background of the region a building is designed.

any comments would be welcome.
