ArchiCAD is indeed a great program to work with. Its major drawback however is the expense. I think it now runs close to $4,000 a seat. There is a student version available for a very reasonable price but its files are not compatible with the professional version (which strikes me as kind of silly). Speaking of file compatability...Has anyone here had any experience trying to translate files between ArchiCAD and Vectorworks? I am considering purchasing Vectorworks and was wondering if I would be able to open old ArchiCad files that I have on disk.
