One could make a case for the airconditioner and refrigeration.
Would we have all of those great buildings in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando???, and other hot, humid climates without HVAC systems?

Fire sprinklers?

Drywall/ gypsum panels?

Modular components? Standardization? The production line?

Computerized design - CAD/CAM?

Is any one of these, or concrete as Manuel suggests, any more important than the others?
