I am an architecture grad student with the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska and my thesis project is to turn a concrete grain elevator into a mixed use space (residential, commercial, office, etc.) You may want to look into the Quaker Oats hotel (Hilton) in Akron, Ohio. in addition Richard Bofill (architect) turned a cement factory into his office and home in Barcelona, Spain. I would also be interested in similar examples if you have them. Hope this helps.
