The most important component is intense project focus--the ability to concentrate and sustain interest in the work at hand.

The failing of most students is inability to do this, being distracted by competing concerns. The greatest architects have been monomanics--but of course not everyone wants to be a great architect at this price. Some of us have interests other than architect.
