"Some of us have interests other than architect."

I find that a full set of interests seems to contribute to the work of architects I know. A strong interest in art, music, community affairs, sports, and many of the pursuits of culture enhance the creativity and ability to relate to the different clients one will meet. Afterall the work is eclectic by nature, resolving many components that go into a building, physical and conceptual; and the many types of projects you'll get into.

But sticking with a project is hard. It will go on and on past the exciting design development phase.
