the financing for the campaign was very heavily supported by Americans, including some extremely prominent US politicians.

the collecting and use for the money was totally in the open and public, so much so that terrorists even went on fund-raising expeditions to the United States.

Hardly a secret - everybody in London was fully aware of it.

the few incidents of the Baader-Meinhof gang are not on the same level as thirty years of continuous bombings, with a significant proportion of the IRA bombs placed where they would kill and maim children.

since the peace process appears to be cracking up in N.Ireland, let's see if it happens again.

names ? start with NORAID and some of the Kennedy-clan. I am sure that many, many more names can be easily found - Americans seemed to be rather proud of what they were doing.

A scandal ? hardly. You should learn a bit more about US 'foreign policy' - not too pleasant.
