subjectivity and objectivity are from two different world ,there's no controversy here and i share your distinction,but i was questioning the "symbolism" and unconscious "modern" realm of the thoughts.
modernism = new vocabulary,symbolic of itself=autonomous,self-consciously intended.....
an innate builtin truth ,here the controversy come again,because it may borrow some of its vital ingredients -(abstraction) as an example- from traditional and vernacular forms,objectivity and modernism is another critical issue
self-referential artistic ego is by its nature = subjectivity,to monopolize architectural scene and to erode all pre-architectural heritage is subjetive thinking and can not be objective logic,and i think in postmodernism we had deepen the wounds!
