Whatever the procedence if used to good purpose it should be respected in any case, for it will be doing good where placed.

In my view individual stances will govern the feeling in front of such building. Humanly it is as understandable people not wanting to lower their living standards if satisfactory as others wanting to raise them if unsatisfactory. The issue then pertains to the compatibility of both intents.
