I would add an interesting book. "Japanese Homes and Their Surroundings". Written in the early 20th century, I believe. I think the Author is "Morse". I remember it was quite readable and a good introduction to Westerners, I thought. Is it fully factual, based on true Japanese thinking? I don't know. So here's a grain of salt (.)
