When you said "better than nothing" you said it right...

These ideas are merely sketches toward an attitude; not, I suppose, real working drawings for the real world...

Part of the ongoing debate over globalization relates to this subject; industrialised societies sending technologies out to the world which are inappropriate, which assume hundreds of years of "Western" ideas, which carry dozens of unspoken premises...

Which are seen, ultimately , as patronising, ignorant, neo-colonial, "Orientalist", or humiliating...

Instead, just a simple batch of joist-hangers or hurricane ties, mild steel wire....these simple items can be interpreted by ingenious
cultures in their own way, on their own terms- and save lives....
