Per , I have never met an engineer who has led a project design process to a conclusion that is succesful as architecture. Not that it hasn't happened over time , but it is a rare thing. I also have never met an engineer who could not acknowledge the difficulty and complexity of what the architect does. Now there are some architect/engineers worthy of note; people who's work is a succesful integration of both: Caltrava,Gaudi,VioletLeDuc come to mind. But engineering is a relatively small piece of a much larger task, though it may be featured, as in the work of those above and others.
