Loads of books on Intelligent buildings and intelligent facades, try RIBA bookshop in Portland Place. Also look at current won competitions such as Roger's Terminal 5 Heathrow and compare the winning competition entry with the scheme that will be built. Anything slightly stylish and "intelligent" in terms of energy saving, intelligent facade, passive ventilation system etc will probably have been eliminated/significantly reduced (just a hunch). It will be about shareholder returns, making the most money etc. The fact is to build something intelligent involves new technology and more cost etc and the end user doesnt necessarily want to pay for this. Government insentives need to increase and the Kyoto agreement needs to be enforced.
