Federation Square

Federation Square is a waste of the public?s money, an eyesore and wasn?t even constructed by its significant date.
Think about the amount of money used to assemble this building, 13 million dollars that?s supposed to bring more tourism to the area. Although it may bring a few tourists from neighboring towns or people who are already in Melbourne it will not attract the amount of people that is expected. Who out there is going to travel hours so that they can see a large ugly area of space?
What other things could the money be spent on? Hospitals, the homeless, charities, and schools the list is endless. Why couldn?t we have put into things that may help people and give people a better education instead of a tourist attraction?
Only this morning on the news I heard a rather interesting comment on hospital reliability. A foreign specialist said that the lack of funding in Australia for its hospitals is not enough and the hospitals would not be able to cope with another attack like ?The Bali bombings?.
The attraction may have made an ugly, disused space usable, it may bring the odd tourists but what do you put first health and education or a 13 million dollar area of space.
Does the amount of money that has been used justify the reason this structure was put there?
What do you think?
