I agree with you concerning the ancient architecture of mesopotamia...
but I believe that the notion of tower of Babel is a vague "religious" notion rather than a "scientific" notion and I guess it's not the same as "ziggurat",because the ziggurat was the ancient mesopotamian temple and it has lots of archeological and historical evidence in modern day Iraq.
