A good firm will want you for your ability to think. Learning CAD is a detail. You bring a unique perspective to the table: the world of public art. This could be quite useful to some firms; not to others. Firms that do public work often struggle with budgets for art, not knowing how to incorporate art work into architecture.
Your other design experience may be valuable if it is grounded in the realities of budgets and other "circumstances". Open ended design experience would not be that attractive to many. 'Best wishes.
