who are your motivators, that make you all so passionate??

Having just come back from Europe - primarily France, Spain (Barcelona, Cadaques, Figueras and Rosas), and Switzerland, I have decided to undertake an architecture degree in Australia. I find all the discourse on these boards highly affected, and was wondering where you all drew inspiration from, ie which architects, and which sources do you read, that motivates such passion? Mr Oliveros, what on earth do you read that allows you to draw such insight - it is astounding considering, I presume, English is your second language? While working in a school in France I met a lady from Zaragoza who lead me to believe that the arts were highly prized in Spain, and I wondered which artists you would recommend.
