infact pyramids is a pre-islamic architectural structure and I would call the mosque
is the religious manifestation that play the role of an islamic "temple" on the other hand the mausoleum or the shrine in islamic architecture (which is not widely spread by the way)is directly related to initial belief in the doctrine of afterlife in Islamic and christian philosophical notions and of course it had an evolutionary path at the architectural level different from the Hindu's philosophical notion of karma and the Buddhist view to the world of reincarnation.
by the way neither I am a fundamentalist myself :)
