Hi
This is most often about placing your drawing plane , ---- UCS , paralell with the roof surface. This way you draw the roof directly on your screen at your screen then can be "placed" as a piece of paper you can use to draw on, where the roof face are.
But you can also place two 3D polylines , one along the top of the roof and one along the side of the roof, and generate a polyface mesh with one of the xxxsurf functions, ----- acturly there are a number of way's but basicly what you need, are to master to place your workplane where you draw the entity that represent the roof , wall or whatever. If you want to taste how to draw in 3D, you could use the Vports command and make 4 windows, ----- the 3 repersenting xy. xz ,yz and one perspective , then you can draw in real 3D, by moving from window to window.
