Prada Store, 575 Broadway, by Rem Koolhaas
This is not noteworthy architecture. It is a store excessively designed for extravagent folly. What are the lessons of the Prada store? More is too much? The Adidas store directly around the corner @ 136 Wooster st. was designed with a fraction of the budget of Prada yet yeilds a more dynamic space with minimal detail. Whenever we are finished glamorizing the stars of architectural design, maybe we can get back to the real issues of architecture.
