I am planning to cycle around the world next year, undertaking an Urban Design Research Project. I will be looking at town and village sized settlements, analysing the main public spaces. I am still working on the methodology so any ideas are very welcome.

The route starts in the UK and heads down through Europe to Turkey, the midle east then Nepal, Tibet,Hong Kong. This leg is potential going to change to a Russian route, depending on the Iraq 'situation'. Anyway its then a flight to Lima, north through Central America and the US to New York, then a flight back to the UK.

I am looking for architect / planning / urban design contacts along the route, to meet up with and talk about the design culture and climate of their area. Is there anyone who can help??

I am also trying to track down any similar work, to assist with the methodology.
