Exactly. In any field of design, it's often necessary to educate the client as to just what his needs are. Some have no idea, while others who think they know what they need don't have a clue about why their ideas won't work. But, even in such cases, the client's best interests should supercede the exposition of the architect's creativity. The architect's creativity should be harnessed in service of the client's needs, always.
