"Perhaps owners do not go for "Modern" style because often these forms do not answer their requirements of what a home should look like."

True, and they never WILL meet those requirements because most people are culturally conditioned to shun anything that doesn't resemble a European house from the 16th through 19th centuries. However, what these undereducated people don't seem to realize is that those designs which they cherish so much were developed over a period of centuries to serve the needs of people who lived in a different time, culture, and climate, and that we are not bound, in any way, to live our lives by their standards. If our ancestors could see what we live in today, they'd either cheer us for sharing their values, or they'd be sadly disappointed that we have no originality and haven't come up with any ideas of our own.
